Community Chest, as the official charity partner for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008, aims to raise S$500,000 for seven charity programmes which nurture children to succeed, help people with disabilities, keep families together and dignify the lives of the elderly.
Your contributions will help the following:
- AWWA TEACH ME - supports children and youth with physical disabilities, and helps integrate them into the mainstream community.
- MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School - provides social, vocational and life skills to children and youth with intellectual disabilities.
- The Singapore Cheshire Home Residential Care - provides care and rehabilitation for individuals with physical disabilities, allowing them to lead as normal a life as possible.
- APSN Centre for Adults - develops and trains individuals with mild intellectual disabilities for employment, to enable them to reach their fullest potential and lead fulfilling independent lives.
- HELP Family Service Centre - cares for the well-being of vulnerable single parent families.
- TRANS Centre (Bukit Timah) - helps distressed families deal with challenges and cope with their responsibilities.
- HCA Hospice Day Care Centre - provides care and support to patients suffering from life-limiting illnesses.
There are runners who have generously decided to run for one of the above seven causes. Every dollar pledged to these runners will go towards their chosen charity programme.
