In support of the 15th anniversary of the Singtel Touching Lives Fund (STLF), 68 of Singtel’s business partners and associates from around the region teed off at Tanah Merah Golf Course on 29 August 2016 during the Singtel Charity Golf. Over $1 million was raised for children and youth with special needs from Community Chest-supported APSN Chaoyang School, APSN Tanglin School, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore School, Eden School and MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School.
The annual event was also dedicated to the memory of the late Mr S R Nathan, a patron of charities who started the President’s Challenge in 2000 to rally Singaporeans around support for the vulnerable in our community. As a mark of respect, participants observed a minute of silence during the event.
The golf event was a platform for STLF beneficiaries to interact with their sponsors. This year, nine final year students from APSN Tanglin School were engaged as waiters during the after-game dinner while another group performed a Latin dance. 250 terrariums were also painstakingly crafted by the students as ‘thank you’ gifts to the sponsors.
Thank you Singtel and sponsors for the wonderful event and for your continuous support for our beneficiaries!
