Close to 3,000 employees from 170 aviation organisations took part in Aviation Run 2011, organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on 12 Nov 2011 at Changi Exhibition Centre. Through the run, aviation partners generously donated and raised a total of $228,888 for charities under the care of Community Chest.
The Guest-of-Honour, Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, flagged off the fun run and also officially launched Aviation Community Cares. Spearheaded by the CAAS, Aviation Community Cares is an overarching platform that allows the aviation community to make a positive and sustainable impact on the society and the environment.
