On 8 January 2012, a 500-strong community of NUS alumni, staff, students, family and friends ran in the NUS BizAd Charity Run 2012 in support of the less fortunate. Organised by the Alumni of the NUS Business School, NUS BizAd Club and the Masters Club, the event raised about $40,000 of which $6,000 went to Students Care Service (Yishun SYNC programme), a social service programme supported by Community Chest.
The guest-of-honour, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, flagged off the 6-km run held in the NUS campus. The new University Town was included in the Charity Run route for the first time this year. Participants were also treated to fun activities and games at the inaugural BizAd Run Funfair held at the Business School.
The NUS BizAd Run is an annual platform to foster bonding between alumni, staff and students of NUS Business School, as well as to promote the spirit of helping the less fortunate in our society.
