Singapore Power (SP) and over 50 of its business associates have raised $336,800 for the needy elderly at a charity golf event held at the Singapore Island Country Club on 4th Nov 2011. This is the biggest amount ever collected by SP through a single fund-raising event.
All donations from the event will go to the SP Heartware Fund which is dedicated to supporting Community Chest’s Home Help Service programmes. These programmes provide essential services to the needy elderly to help them age with grace and dignity .
This is the fifth year that the SP Charity Golf event is being held to raise funds for the SP Heartware Fund. Since the launch of the Fund in October 2005, SP has, with the support of its business associates, staff and the public, donated close to $6 million to the Home Help Service programmes.
About the SP Heartware Fund

Every dollar raised for the Fund goes to the Home Help Service programmes. The Fund is administered by Community Chest, while Singapore Power underwrites all costs for the company’s fund-raising activities.
The Fund has also sponsored the purchase of vans and ambulances for the Home Help Service providers.
