Staff getting round-the-table cash donations during dinner

ARDE raised over $20,300 for Community Chest at their first ever Charity dinner on 26th of November at the Raffles City Convention Centre. Held in tandem with its annual Dinner and Dance, the donations will be channelled towards 72 charities under the care of Community Chest.
Earlier this year, in May, Community Chest launched the “Hoteliers With A Heart” campaign to rally hoteliers to contribute part of their salary on a monthly basis to help the needy. ARDE became a new supporter of “Hoteliers with A Heart” under the leadership of its President, Mr Alphonso D’Conceicao, in June, 2010. To mark its ardent support, the dinner also bore the same name, “Hoteliers With A Heart.”
“The theme name was borrowed from Community Chest, whom we are supporting not just tonight, but will continue to do so and help make that difference to more than 320,000 people’s lives. Our desire is to help these beneficiaries from our hearts as one united group as hoteliers.”
470 guests turned up for the dinner, making it the biggest event of the year for ARDE. Funds to Community Chest were raised through table sales, games and round-the-table cash donations at the dinner. ARDE members also found out more about the SHARE programme through a short presentation from Community Chest.
