Community Chest is a strategic partner of this year’s Total Defence campaign that is anchored on a music video featuring a remake of the well-loved Singaporean classic “Home”. It is sung by 39 iconic local singers spanning different generations and genres, including Ramli Sarip, Jimmy Ye, Maggie Teng, Jeremy Monteiro, Taufik Batisah, JJ Lin and Stefanie Sun.
The “Home” video will do more than reinforce the message of Total Defence. It can also be downloaded to raise funds for the less fortunate. With every download of the MV, $1 will be donated by Lee Foundation, Sembcorp Industries, Aurigin Technology, Tote Board and Singapore Turf Club. The funds raised will benefit two of Community Chest’s causes, “Dignifying the Lives of the Elderly” through 25 social service programmes and “Keeping Families Together” through 36 Family Service Centres.
Community Chest hopes to see 200,000 downloads which will garner $200,000 to help families and elderly people in need.
The “Home” music video can be downloaded at www.thisishome.sg from 15 February to 31 March 2011. Don’t miss this simple opportunity to do your part for the less fortunate in our Home - Singapore.
