In celebration of Christmas last year, the Royal Plaza on Scotts organised a series of charitable initiatives. One of it was a lucky draw for guests where they purchased a ticket at $10 to get a chance to win an exquisite mask of their choice. These masks were directly imported from Venice, Italy.
From 3 December 2007 to 6 January 2008, $2 was also donated from every room bill to Community Chest. This was in addition to a pledge of a dollar for every buffet patronised by guests during December last year at Carousel, its gastronomically acclaimed international buffet restaurant.
Lest you think that it was all dollars and cents, the Hotel also made it a point to spread Christmas cheer to the less fortunate.
Children from the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) had a delectable ‘Gingerbread’ Christmas celebration. The Hotel organised a Gingerbread-making workshop for the children. Members of the media and their children were also invited to participate in the activity.
