Help Mr Choy and Mdm Teo have a more blissful Chinese New Year

Unlike most of us who celebrate Chinese New Year with many loved ones, 69 year-old retired cleaner, Mr Choy Chin Iat and his wife, Mdm Teo Thng Eng, have only each other to call family. Childless and with no other family members to rely on, Mr Choy, who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and chronic heart problems, needs his wife to take care of him. However, his wife is also plagued with poor health and unable to work. Both of them rely heavily on Medifund for their medical needs. Despite their medical problems and financial difficulties, this couple exudes love and support for each other.

Fortunately, through the “Befriending” programme run by Lions Befrienders and supported by Community Chest, this amiable couple receives regular social support through weekly visits and activities organized by the Befrienders. They also receive much needed food rations from the Befrienders.
