On 16 Oct 2009, Singapore Power organised a charity golf event to raise funds for the beneficiaries of Singapore Power Heartware Fund. This Fund has enabled the seven Home Help Services to continue providing critical services like meals delivery, housekeeping and medical escort service to more than 900 needy elderly in Singapore.
Together with the support of its business partners, Singapore Power raised $223,800 through the event. During the event, Chairman of Community Chest, Ms Jennie Chua received the cheque from Chairman of Singapore Power , Mr Ng Kee Choe on behalf of the Home Help Services.
The management and staff of Singapore Power have been very committed in supporting this worthy cause and serving the less privileged elderly in our community.
Besides fund raising, Singapore Power’s staff also volunteer their time on weekends to help deliver meals to the elderly, and organise festive celebrations for them. In Nov 09, employees of Singapore Power will put their hands together to clean up homes of these elderly. This is definitely a very meaningful way of helping the elderly live more comfortably in their own homes and age gracefully within their communities.
Thank you, Singapore Power, for your strong and unstinting support towards the beneficiaries of the Home Help Service programmes.
