Community Chest Presented with Cheque of $800,000 at Ministry of Transport (MOT) Family Charity Outreach 2010

The MOT Family Charity Outreach was launched on 19 May 2010 with a cheque donation of $800,000 presented by Mr Raymond Lim, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Ms Jennie Chua, Chairman of Community Chest. The donation will go towards supporting critical social service programmes run by 72 charities supported by Community Chest.

The charity initiative was inaugurated to reflect the collective commitment and efforts of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and its family of four statutory boards, namely Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Land Transport Authority, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and Public Transport Council, towards a charitable cause.

Before the launch ceremony, beneficiaries from the Rainbow Centre, APSN Tanglin School and LTA Cares Fund enjoyed a tour of the Singapore Aviation Academy, Land Transport Gallery and Port Operations Control Centre. They were then treated to a ferry ride around Sentosa Island.
