Patricia Ng Jing Ting, aged 12, is at MINDS Guillemard Gardens School. She has Down's Syndrome and has been receiving Special Education in the Junior Level Physiotherapy programme.
Since 1995 when she entered the programme, Patricia has shown marked improvement in her cognitive development, particularly in learning the English language and in her writing skills. She has good social skills and interacts with friendship with her schoolmates and teachers. A measure of her successful development is the fact that she is now a school prefect.
Patricia says that with the help of her teachers, she wants to improve her clarity of speech, expand on her language development and her skills in arithmetic.
